El Hijo del Vikingo announced on social media that after an injury scare during this past Sunday’s TNA IMPACT television tapings in Detroit, he expects to be back in less than a month.
Vikingo notes that the injury “did not affect any ligament or muscle.”
The match, which saw Vikingo take on Trent Seven, was stopped after a springboard dive to the outside. Several agents came out after the referee threw up the “X” signaling the injury, with Vikingo being taken out of the building on a stretcher by legitimate EMS.
Vikingo said the following on his Instagram (translated from Spanish):
“Sunday I had a strong blow on my right knee, thank God it doesn’t affect any ligament or muscle, I have to be on rest for 5 days in which it deflammatory, then start rehab until I’m 100% recovered, I’ll be out for 15 to 20 days, thanks to @luchalibreaaa @tnawrestling for keeping an eye out, thank you very much, also thank you to everyone who took the time to send me a message thank you.”
Back in February Vikingo suffered a torn meniscus and ruptured ligament during a match in Mexico. He challenged Mike Bailey for the X-Division Championship at last Saturday’s TNA Bound For Flory pay-per-view, but came up short.
