WWE Vault gives nod to WCW during Halloween Havoc 1998 broadcast

The WWE Vault channel on YouTube went “live” earlier today to broadcast WCW Halloween Havoc 1998 in its entirety.

A moment from the channel’s broadcast saw the feed “cut” briefly before the main event between Diamond Dallas Page and Goldberg for the WCW Championship, a nod to the original pay-per-view broadcast ending early due to running past its allotted timeslot.

That moment saw a great deal of backlash as viewers reportedly demanded refunds, and the match itself was broadcast in full on WCW Monday Nitro the following night.

WWE Vault, an official channel for the company, has included several events from the vast tape library, along with classic (and in some cases, previously unseen) wrestling-adjacent footage such as The Undertaker walking through the No Mercy maze at Halloween Horror Nights 2000 in Universal Studios Hollywood.

The channel’s broadcast of the WCW event can be found below.
