Backstage update on Bryan Danielson’s AEW future after World Title loss at WrestleDream

According to Fightful Select, Bryan Danielson health issues talked about prior to his match with Jon Moxley at Saturday’s AEW WrestleDream PPV are indeed legitimate. The report also notes Danielson will be undergoing neck surgery before the end of 2024.

Fightful Select adds that Danielson reportedly wishes now that he had not wrestled the few matches prior to his match against Moxley and has apparently admitted that his time as a full-time in-ring talent is coming to an end and that Danielson has no plans to return to WWE.

Furthermore, Fightful Select has confirmed Danielson has legitimately been working in AEW with a talent contract since his deal expired this past August. Danielson always intended to drop the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley. AEW does remain hopeful that Danielson will wrestle for them on a part-time basis going forward.

Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream, to become a four-time AEW World Champion.
