AEW star Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D took to X, revealing it was coming down with strep throat that kept her from competing at this Tuesday’s AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday special in Spokane, Washington.
Baker was scheduled to face Willow Nightingale with the winner going on to challenge Mariah May for the AEW Women’s World Championship at WrestleDream this coming Saturday in Tacoma, WA.
She also thanked those who have reached out to her. Baker added that after going to urgent care and receiving the diagnosis, she has taken antibiotics, an IV, and a shot, which will help her recover from the illness.
Baker, who lives in Florida and has a dental practice in the Winter Park area, mentioned that due to the Hurricanes, she is having issues with getting needed supplies such as gas and water. She further said because she expected to be traveling to Washington state, she didn’t think she needed any supplies.
In addition, for those who doubted that she didn’t make it to Title Tuesday due to illness, Baker said the following:
“To all the weirdos with your conspiracy theories, f— off.”
During Wednesday’s WrestleDream PPV media call, AEW CEO, President and General Manager Tony Khan said that he had seen Baker at the wedding of former AEW Vice President Megha Parekh and that she got became sick following the wedding.
