Triple H announces new championships, matches set for WWE Crown Jewel

During tonight’s WWE Bad Blood premium live event, Paul “Triple H” Levesque came to the ring for what was billed as a “historic announcement.”

As noted by Mike Tedesco in his live coverage of the event:

Levesque says it is hard to believe it’s been thirty years since he lived around this city. He was in WCW as Terra Ryzin. 16,092 people are in the building. This is the 60th sellout of the year. It is the largest-grossing arena event in history. Levesque thanks them.

Now, it’s time to talk about the next history-making event coming in four weeks. One of the biggest spectacle events takes place in four weeks, Crown Jewel. The crowd lightly boos. This year, they will make history. It will be the beginning of a new era in WWE. It’s an annual event that will take place at Crown Jewel. The reigning WWE Champion will face the reigning World Champion for both men and women. Neither title will be on the line, but there will be a definitive winner. That winner will be crowned 2024’s Crown Jewel Champion. Levesque unveils the Crown Jewel Championship. Levesque says fifty karats of diamonds will signify the winner as the best of the best.

Previous shows in Saudi Arabia have seen the Greatest Royal Rumble for a special championship, the Best in the World tournament, and the recent return of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, who came out to the ring to address the announcement and Bill Goldberg, is set to defend his championship against Sami Zayn tomorrow night on Raw.
