Report: Meta’s AI chatbot to start speaking in the voice of WWE Superstar

You might not be able to see him, but you will surely be able to hear him.

According to an exclusive report by Reuters, a source familiar with Facebook’s plans says the Meta Platforms owner is planning to announce this week that it has secured a deal with WWE’s John Cena and with Hollywood actors including Judi Dench and Kristen Bell to give voice to its Meta AI chatbot.

Reuters also notes that the same source told the publication that Facebook is set to announce the audio capabilities at its annual Connect conference, which begins this Wednesday, September 25.

At the Connect conference, Reuters further notes that Meta is also expected to unveil a first version of its augmented-reality glasses at Connect this year and to discuss its road map for other hardware devices like its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which last year became its first product to include an audio version of the Meta AI chatbot.

The same source also told Reuters that Cena’s voice, along with the other celebrity voices will begin launching in the United States and other English-speaking markets later this week across Meta’s family of apps, which includes Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently posted a promotional video on Instagram featuring Cena, as it shows showing the two and several others doing stunts while wearing the Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

Cena is set to begin his WWE retirement tour this January.
