On Thursday, WrestleVotes first reported that SmackDown will move to three hours on USA Network starting on January 3, 2025.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer/F4WOnline followed up on the Wrestlevotes report by stating that those within WWE have said they are open to discussions about the runtime of both Raw and SmackDown, but that nothing has been made final as of yet.
Raw is leaving the USA Network at the end of this year and moves back to a two-hour format starting with the October 7 episode. The show premieres on Netflix beginning January 6, 2025. It has been reported that Raw will revert back to the three-hour format once it debuts on Netflix.
WWE and USA Network’s new five-year deal for Friday Night SmackDown began last Friday, after ending a five-year run on the FOX Broadcasting Network.
