Report: Reactions to upcoming ‘Mr. McMahon’ docuseries

A new report from Fightful Select has highlighted reactions from talent, staff, and higher ups to the coming Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon, which looks at the life of former WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

Of these reactions, one stemming from a WWE talent of over a decade noted the importance of the ongoing lawsuit against McMahon, which will be addressed at the top of the show and on the final episode per Wrestlenomics:

I don’t think at this point anyone should care about the life and times of Vince McMahon above the legal situation he’s in.

It is believed the lawsuit itself will be addressed within the series to “take heat off” from those who may have spoken glowingly about McMahon in the show’s interviews prior to the emergence of the 2022 allegations.

The report also states that there was a unanimous feeling among those spoken to in WWE of wanting to wash their hands of McMahon, in the wake of a new era for the company.

A spokesperson for Janel Grant, the plaintiff of the lawsuit alleging sexual and emotional abuse on the part of McMahon, responded to a request for comment from Fightful, stating:

Netflix’s documentary group made initial outreach to Janel’s representation for an interview for this project. Despite this, no such interview came to fruition.

WWE has not commented in an official capacity to the docuseries trailer as of this writing.
