Janel Grant was approached to be interviewed for new “Mr. McMahon” docuseries

It was previously reported that the upcoming Netflix docuseries, “Mr. McMahon”, which releases on September 25, will not include an interview with former WWE employee Janel Grant.

However, in a new report, POST Wrestling has learned that the filmmakers of the docuseries attempted to arrange an interview to include Grant in the series. A source with knowledge of the production confirmed Grant was approached to participate in the series multiple times, and ultimately decided not to.

A spokesperson for Grant stated the following to POST Wrestling:

“Netflix’s documentary group made initial outreach to Janel’s representation for an interview for this project. Despite this, no such interview came to fruition.”

The six-part docuseries was produced by Library Films, including executive producer Chris Smith. POST Wrestling further notes they reached out to Library Films for comment on their report, but at the time of publication, did not received a response.

Grant is the plaintiff in an ongoing lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The suit alleges she was the target of sexual assault and sex trafficking while employed by Vince McMahon.

The lawsuit was put on hold this past, June pending a federal, possibly criminal, investigation involving U.S. Attorneys from the Southern District of New York.
