During an interview with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight Podcast, Scott D’Amore revealed that former WWE announcer Mauro Ranallo will be the announcer for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.
D’Amore said the following to Van Vliet:
“Mauro Ranallo has agreed to be the voice of Maple Leaf Pro. He’s the man. Mauro has passion for wrestling. I’m so stoked and so honored. The fact that he’s willing to say, ‘Yeah, I want to be part of this,’ to me, is unbelievable. He’s the man. He’s so good.”
Ranallo signed with WWE as the lead SmackDown announcer back in January 2016. He later became the play-by-play announcer for NXT on June 22, 2017. He left WWE in 2020.
Ranallo is first sports broadcaster in history to call boxing, kickboxing, MMA and professional wrestling on national television in the United States.
