The most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that a backstage incident has led to Britt Baker being legitimately suspended, with Dave Meltzer noting that the incident took place two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite.
According to Meltzer, comments from Baker inside the locker room made their way to MJF via Alicia Atout, leading to a confrontation between the former AEW Women’s World Champion and current AEW International (“American”) Champion, who have had unresolved issues in the past.
The company’s HR reportedly launched an investigation into the matter, with a suspension of 1-2 weeks and a fine levied against Baker, who is still set to face Mercedes Mone’ for the TBS Championship at All In on Sunday, August 25 from Wembley Stadium.
