Jacob Fatu made his debut on Friday night’s WWE SmackDown. Fatu attacked Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes during the show.
Fightful Select has provided backstage news on the debut of Fatu.
The report states Fatu immediately made good impressions within WWE, which includes a very respectful demeanor towards talent and staff backstage. It was also noted that Fatu had been backstage at WrestleMania 40.
Due to a previous criminal record when he was younger, Fightful Select notes that Fatu has never competed outside of the United States. His past record has prevented him from taking bookings outside of the US. It was also noted that Fatu has moved on from his past criminal record.
At the time of this writing, it is unknown if WWE will be able to clear Fatu to appear at future international events. Fightful Select said they were told by sources that due to WWE holding a number of events outside of the United States earlier this year, it had likely prevented Fatu from debuting sooner.
The report concluded that WWE had a lot of interest in signing Fatu. He previously wrestled for Major League Wrestling.
