In an interview with Fightful, Jordynne Grace talked about her appearance on the 5/28 edition of WWE NXT, where she was announced as Roxanne Perez’s opponent at NXT Battleground for the NXT Women’s Championship.
On the element of surprise that came with her arrival on the show, the TNA Knockouts Champion said:
I’m relieved that I got to do the surprise. That’s awesome. Surprises in wrestling, I feel like it made it bigger. When no one expects it. I feel good. I feel excited. This is a huge thing for the wrestling world.
Perez herself was genuinely surprised by the appearance, as Grace recalls.
They were going to bring her back five minutes before the segment happened to see who it was. She was kind of frustrated, and I think she was almost being petty about it. ‘You know what, I don’t want to know now. I’m going to find out when everyone else finds out.’ She just decided to not see me.
Jordynne’s appearance on NXT comes after being an entrant in the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match, but was not the only surprise for that evening’s program as Ethan Page also debuted to close out the show.
