It is Wednesday, my dudes…you know what that means.
We open with Jon Moxley’s theme hitting, as the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion makes his way through the crowd for our opening contest! We see Kyle Fletcher and Jeff Cobb already in the ring as Moxley heads toward ringside…and they blindside Moxley at the barricade! The beatdown is interrupted as Bryan Danielson’s music hits, signaling his arrival as he rushes down the ramp!
Moxley and Danielson turn things around, the American Dragon’s music still playing as the BCC lay into Fletcher and Cobb at ringside. Danielson lays some right hands into Cobb as Mox continues wearing down Fletcher before hitting a running knee strike! Danielson brings Cobb into the ring and the bell rings to finally get this match underway!
Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson vs. Jeff Cobb and Kyle Fletcher
Danielson continues the attack on Cobb with some hard strikes before tagging in Moxley. The champ lays into Cobb with some hard offense of his own, but Cobb turns it around sending Mox into the corner before Kyle tags in to keep at it! This soon becomes Fletcher’s undoing as Mox takes him into the corner instead, raking the back before dropping him to the mat for a nearfall. Mox goes for a cross arm breaker but Cobb runs in to break it up!
Mox goes right back to work, setting Fletcher up as he tags in Danielson…who hits a diving knee strike on Fletcher, driving him down hard from the second rope to the canvas as we go to picture-in-picture!
Picture-in-Picture: Fletcher and Mox end up on the outside, where Cobb gets involved before Kyle brings the champ back in the ring for a tag to the NJPW World TV Champion. Cobb wears Mox down for a nearfall, staring down Danielson all the while before Fletcher tags back in for some more damage as we come back from break!
Mox is back on his feet, leading to a trade of strikes between him and Fletcher until Mox gets sent back to the corner, where Cobb tags in. He mocks Danielson before going for a deadlift German suplex, but Mox fights it off before sending Cobb to the ropes for a German suplex of his own…and a tag to Danielson!
Strikes go flying between Danielson and Cobb, before the American Dragon takes him down for a series of kicks. Before he can do anything else however, Danielson gets caught by Fletcher as Cobb escapes the ring…just as Danielson dives through the ropes, knocking Fletcher down!
Cobb escaped the flight path and he takes advantage, sending Danielson back in the ring…but the Dragon sets up for a running knee strike–only to get caught with a suplex by Cobb instead! Mox gets a tag in, as does Fletcher as the two go at it in the center of the ring. Mox heads to the ropes, but takes a kick to the jaw that sends him to the corner instead. Kyle charges at full speed…right into a big boot from Mox! Cobb runs in, but he’s taken down as Mox goes for a choke on Fletcher…but Cobb breaks it up!
Chaos ensues as all four men go at it, and in the mess we see Fletcher connect with a tombstone piledriver on Mox for the cover…BUT MOX KICKS OUT!
Cobb comes in for a double-team, but it all goes south leading to Fletcher taking a kick from Danielson followed a Paradigm Shift from Mox, who gets the pin and the win!
Winners via pinfall: Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson
There is no time for celebration as Konosuke Takeshita runs into the ring, beating down Danielson and Mox until Claudio Castagnoli runs in with a weapon for the save! Takeshita, Fletcher, and Cobb regroup on the outside as BCC stand tall inside the ring.
Video Package: Swerve Strickland shines as AEW World Champion, but faces a tough challenge in Christian Cage…and now deals with the Embassy turning on him!
Back at ringside, Adam Copeland makes his way to the stage…where he gets blindsided by Brody King and Buddy Matthews! They wear the champ down, sending him into the ring as Malakai Black walks down with the TNT Championship in his hand.
Black grabs a microphone as King and Matthews prop the champ up, choking him out as Malakai runs Adam down for the challenge he made. Black mocks the crowd for telling him to shut up before instructing Matthews to remove Copeland’s wedding ring. House of Black mock the champion before Kyle O’Reilly runs down to help Copeland out…but to no avail!
He’s dropped to the outside before the House prop Copeland up between a steel chair and the TNT Championship…and rush at him with a triple dropkick! House of Black leave a pile of destruction behind as they head up the ramp.
Commentary addresses what went down last Saturday at NJPW Resurgence, where The Elite attacked Eddie Kingston after losing his NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship to Gabe Kidd. Perry runs down the Mad King, saying he learned what he had to lose that night.
Backstage, The Elite say Kingston was “bitten by the injury bug” before pointing out that Anarchy in the Arena looks to be 4 vs. 3…unless Team AEW can find a partner that wants to work with them. They then address their matches tonight, with Okada saying he will destroy Dax Harwood tonight.

Video Package/Commercial?: The Young Bucks have their own brand of Reebok Pump sneakers out now…but do they come in wide widths?
Backstage, Renee talks to FTR who state they have found a fourth partner already before calling Okada out ahead of Dax’s title match later tonight.
Back at ringside, the Young Bucks make their way to the ring for their AEW World Tag Title Eliminator match up next. Out next are Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal, and this match officially gets underway!
AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator: The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) vs. Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal
We start off with Nicholas and Sydal, the latter catching the EVP off guard with a flurry of offense before getting a nearfall! Tags made to Daniels and Matthew, the pair having some harsh words before going at it…and Daniels sends Nicholas off the apron before getting a nearfall on Matthew! Matthew tries to go for a tag but is pulled away…but that doesn’t seem to stop him from going off on Sydal upon tagging in himself, wearing him down as we go to picture-in-picture!
Picture-in-Picture: Matthew takes advantage of the confusion to get back in on the action, wearing Sydal down before Nicholas goes back at it, eventually sending Sydal to the corner for a tag back to Matthew. They continue the beatdown, keeping him away from making a tag to Daniels…but Sydal starts fighting back, only to be cut off by the Bucks who knock Daniels off the apron as we come back from break!
Sydal is able to keep fighting however, eventually getting the tag to the Fallen Angel upon his return to the corner! Daniels rushes the Bucks with a flurry of offense…but the Bucks turn it back around! Christopher gets an opening once again, bringing Nicholas up to the top turnbuckle…only to get intercepted by Matthew! With Sydal knocked down after an earlier attack, the Bucks connect with a TK Driver on the Fallen Angel for the pin and the win!

After the match, the Bucks get a microphone to run Daniels down for what he said and did last week. They say they’ve been trying to clean up the locker room, and after what he did they are the bearer of bad news…firing Christopher Daniels! They say they’re going to “take care of” CD’s family with a severance package, and are even nice enough to provide security to escort Daniels out of the building.
Matthew mockingly thanks Daniels for all his five years of work. At commentary, Jack Perry raises a “toast” to Christopher Daniels, taking a sip of the Woo Energy Drink…before pouring it over Tony Schiavone’s head!
Backstage, Renee is with “Timeless” Toni Storm who runs down Harley Cameron for what she did to Mariah May last week, promising to beat her down tonight!
-Commercial Break-
Somewhere backstage, Malakai Black talks about Copeland’s wedding ring and everything that it represents before addressing the champion’s challenge for Double Or Nothing. He accepts, with a caveat…if Copeland loses, he must bend the knee to the House of Black!
Back at ringside, HOOK makes his way to the ring for his in-ring return. Sebastian Wolfe is in the ring, ready to try his best as the match gets underway!
HOOK vs. Sebastian Wolfe
Wolfe rushes toward HOOK, who catches him for a big suplex instead! HOOK follows up with some crossface punches on Wolfe before locking in Redrum…and Sebastian taps out immediately, giving HOOK the win!
Winner via submission: HOOK
HOOK grabs the microphone from Justin Roberts, saying he’s out here looking to get his FTW Championship back as he calls out Chris Jericho. The “Learning Tree” makes his way out to the ring alongside Big Bill. Jericho talks about being happy to see HOOK back, and calling him out as it means he gets to be on Dynamite. HOOK wants none of Jericho’s remarks, demanding a match against Jericho for his FTW Championship here tonight.
Jericho asks if that’s what the people want, before saying this isn’t a violent moment…it’s a teaching moment. HOOK needs to learn that the world doesn’t revolve around him. The crowd chants “please retire,” to which Jericho responds that if he retires he will be inducted into every pro wrestling hall of fame out there before going back to address HOOK’s challenge. He tells HOOK that he must win a qualifying match to potentially earn a shot at the “For The World” Championship.
HOOK says that sounds great…you know what else sounds great? Before Jericho can respond, HOOK smacks him on the head with the microphone! Jericho and Bill are quick to turn it into a beatdown on HOOK, until Shibata runs down to make the save!
The Learning Tree and his big ol’ stump buddy regroup on the ramp as Jericho shouts what Shibata thinks he’s doing.
Backstage, Swerve addresses his home state crowd before talking down Christian Cage…as well as the unrelated Brian Cage, who faces him in a World Title Eliminator Match next! Swerve tells the crowd to welcome Brian Cage to whose house? Swerve’s House!
Back at ringside, Strickland makes his way to the ring for our next match. Out next is Brian Cage, and this World Title Eliminator Match is underway!
AEW World Title Eliminator: Swerve Strickland vs. Brian Cage
Strickland rushes at Cage with a knee strike, sending the Machine to the corner…and quickly taking the action to the outside! Swerve drives Cage’s shoulder into the ring post…but the Machine just as quickly brings the offense against the champ, bringing him back into the ring! Cage goes after Swerve with some hard strikes, but Strickland is quick to turn it right back around in his favor as he goes after the neck.
Brian finally fights out of it, hitting a backbreaker on the champ before sending him to the corner. Strickland hits some right hands on the Machine now, focusing the attack on his arm after by wrapping it around the ring rope. Cage finally turns it back around however, setting the champ up on the turnbuckle…but Swerve fights out! Cage catches him again though, sending him into the corner…only to take a boot to the face by Strickland!
This doesn’t stop the Machine from rolling for long however, as he picks Swerve up and drops him down hard, the champ falling out of the ring as we go to picture-in-picture!
Picture-in-Picture: Cage heads out of the ring, keeping the champ under some big pressure with some hard offense before bringing Swerve back into the ring. Wearing him down some more, Cage gets a cover on Strickland for a nearfall…and transitions into a rear naked choke! Swerve is struggling to fight out of the hold, finally fighting back to his feet and breaking the hold before hitting hte ropes…where Cage meets him with a shoulder tackle as we come back from break!
Swerve’s on the apron, but Cage brings him in the hard way with a vertical suplex off the ropes for a cover…but the champ kicks out!
Swerve fights out of Cage’s grasp, sending the Machine into the corner for a running boot on the injured tricep! Cage sent to the ropes, but the two end up trading strikes before Strickland catches Brian with a kick to the head!
Cage is in the corner as Swerve hits an uppercut, taking him down to the canvas for an aerial attack…and then he literally hits the griddy in celebration, to a pop from the crowd. He follows up with a brainbuster on the bigger Cage, taking the Machine down for a nearfall!
Swerve heads to the corner for a House Call, but Cage hits a knee strike instead! Weapon X is set up, but Swerve fights out and goes for a short arm scissors! Cage fights out of it, hitting a powerbomb on Swerve into the corner and driving him right back down for the cover…BUT SWERVE KICKS OUT!
Swerve escapes a Drill Claw, catching Cage with a nearfall instead…and sends him to the ropes with a kick after! Cage gets caught on the apron with a kick to the face, leaving him dangling off the apron as Strickland hits a Swerve Stomp sending him to the floor! Swerve sends him back in the ring, going up top for a 450 splash and the cover…BUT CAGE KICKS OUT THIS TIME!
Cage up to his feet, catching the champ with a double powerbomb for a cover…but the champ kicks out again, frustrating the Machine in the process!
Swerve fights off another Drill Claw attempt, laying in some kicks before Cage wallops him with a right hand…but Swerve is right back at it, fighting out of a powerbomb for a cover! As soon as cage kicks out, Strickland goes after his arm…and hits the Killshot! House Call by Strickland follows suit, and the champ gets the pin and the win!

Swerve is not looking to celebrate however, going out of the ring for a steel chair instead. He grabs a second one as well, attacking the Machine until Christian Cage’s music hits…and with the Patriarch stepping onto the stage, Strickland looks to hit the Con-Chair-to on Brian’s arm! But the rest of the Patriarchy runs in, with Nick Wayne hitting a low blow on the champ before Killswitch runs in for the beatdown as well. We soon see a picture of what is pointed out to be Swerve’s family…and Wayne slams it against the champ’s head!
Killswitch props Strickland up against the ropes as Cage walks down the ramp, talking about how Swerve attacked his “son” Nick Wayne months ago. He goes on to accuse the champ of being an “absentee father” before pointing out that tonight, he took Swerve’s blood…and at Double Or Nothing, he will take his World Championship!
-Commercial Break-
We cut backstage, where Renee talks to HOOK about the odds being stacked against him. HOOK talks about taking down anyone who stands in his way…to which Shibata asks if that includes him, wanting a shot at Jericho as well. This sets up some tension between them before Samoa Joe steps in, telling HOOK off for letting Jericho get in his head. As the former champ walks off, Shibata makes a comment about Joe’s shirt as we go back to ringside.
Storm is firmly in control here, taking Harley to the corner for a second-rope lungblower and a DDT for a nearfall. Cameron starts fighting back, hitting a boot to the face of the champ before taking Storm down for the cover…but Toni kicks out!
Toni Storm makes her way to the ring now, gearing up for something of a grudge match against Harley Cameron with all outside interference banned as this match gets underway!
Toni Storm vs. Harley Cameron
Toni seems like a woman possessed in the early going, wearing Cameron down before sending her out of the ring…but is soon distracted by the arrival of Serena Deeb, who stays on the stage as we go to picture-in-picture!
Picture-in-Picture: Harley makes good use of the opening, taking the fight to the champ throughout as she sends Storm to the corner for a boot to the face. She brings Toni to the middle of the ring, driving her knee into the back of Storm before the champ gets to her feet…and nails Cameron with a big headbutt as we come back from break!
Harley takes to the ropes for speed, but is caught with a choke powerbomb for a nearfall! Champ hits another nearfall, and is able to put Harley away with the Storm Zero for the pin and the win in this grudge match!
Winner via pinfall: Toni Storm
We cut backstage, where Will Ospreay goes face-to-face with Roderick Strong and the Undisputed Kingdom…but Ospreay is having none of it, telling him off for the “mind games” he’s been trying to play, assuring that the Tiger Driver 91 is still retired but he will beat Strong for that International Championship. He talks about not respecting Strong, something the champion is willing to agree with as he doesn’t respect Ospreay either.
Strong talks about overcoming his traumatic neck injury to become champion, but things devolve into a shouting contest as Ospreay says he will take away the one thing that makes Roderick important…the AEW International Championship!
Back at ringside, Renee welcomes us to the contract signing for the TBS Championship match at Double Or Nothing before introducing Mercedes Mone’. The crowd seems relatively quiet for the CEO despite her music containing the chant, before Willow Nightingale is introduced next to a bigger pop from the crowd. Stokely and Statlander stand beside her, but the TBS Champion says she’s got this as she heads to the ring alone.
Renee gives the floor and the contract to the champion first, as Willow says she respects Mercedes but wants to know if Mone’ respects the TBS Championship. It’s a championship that celebrates the legacy of professional wrestling, a legacy that dates back over fifty years on this very channel. It’s a legacy built on fighting, hard work and determination.
Every woman who has held the title represents that, and now Willow is the face of TBS…and every time this smiling face walks down to the ring, you see on the screen “Nothing Matters…Smile Anyway.” That means that through the doom and gloom, to smile on…and that means she will not stand by and let Mercedes walk into AEW and take all that away. Not now, not at Double Or Nothing…never.
Mercedes tells Everett to say hello to their CEO, which gets a scattered chant amongst boos. She runs down Nightingale, saying Mercedes was building something up for everyone and breaking the glass ceiling. Willow wouldn’t be here without Mone’. Mercedes respects the champion, but there’s a difference between being great and being the greatest of all time. Let’s talk about TBS, because you should be looking at the new face of TBS. She talks about the things she’s done outside the ring, because that is what a CEO does.
She knows beating Mercedes was the best thing for Willow’s career…but when she beats Nightingale for the TBS Championship at Double Or Nothing, that will also be the best thing for her! Willow reminds the CEO that the last time they wrestled, she walked away a champion…and Mercedes didn’t walk away at all!
Mone’ slaps Nightingale in the face for this, and the champ responds by taking her challenger down…before sending her through the contract table with a gutwrench powerbomb! Security rushes in to the aid of Mone’ as Willow leaves the ring with her TBS Championship, standing tall on the ramp.
-Commercial Break-
Back at ringside, Kazuchika Okada makes his way to the ring for our main event! Out next is the challenger for the Continental Championship as Dax Harwood heads to the ring, and this match gets underway!
AEW Continental Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada (c) defends against Dax Harwood
The two lock up before Okada takes Harwood down, only for Dax to escape leading to a standoff. They circle the mat before locking up again, with Dax taking Okada down with a shoulder tackle before looking for the Sharpshooter…but Okada quickly escapes to the outside for a breather before sliding back in. He takes the action to Harwood against the ropes, but Dax fights back with a couple chops!
Harwood sends the champ to the corner for some more strikes, but Okada ends up fightinb back with a shoulder tackle before driving Dax’s shoulder into the ring post! Harwood’s on the apron, struggling as we go to picture-in-picture!
Picture-in-Picture: Okada maintains control throughout, despite an attempt from Harwood to fight back. The two end up back in the middle of the ring, where Okada gets a nearfall before Dax hits some kicks…but it barely fazes the champ, who goes right back on the attack as we return from break!
Dax finds himself getting back into it now, sending Okada to the corner for an opening…but it quickly gets shut once again as Okada takes the challenger to the outside! Dax heads to the chair near the barricade for a breather…and this works against him as Okada charges at him for a running strike! Okada breaks the ref’s count before going back to work on Harwood, propping him up on the barricade to deliver a DDT onto the floor!
Dax is barely stirring as Okada rolls back into the ring, and Harwood uses the steps to get toward the ring…only to slip to the floor at eight! The ref reaches nine when Dax lunges into the ring, finally breaking the count!
Dax seems exhausted as Okada tries to set up for the Rainmaker, only for Harwood to drop to the mat. Okada tries again, but Dax ducks it and hits a set of German suplexes! Okada fights out and hits a big boot, only to take an uppercut and a right hand followed by a dragon suplex by Harwood! Both men slowly get to their feet now as Okada takes to the ropes, and both men have each other’s arm as they trade strikes.
Okada sends Harwood to the ropes for a dropkick, but Dax blocks it as he goes for a Sharpshooter…until Okada kicks his leg out to stop it! Dax fights out of a tombstone piledriver attempt, but Okada reverses right back out into a neckbreaker for the cover! BUT DAX MANAGES TO KICK OUT!
Dax is still down as Okada goes up top…only to be intercepted by Harwood! Dax hits a big superplex on the champ, dropping him hard to the mat! Both men are down as the ref starts the count…with Dax getting to his knees followed by Okada as they break the count. They fight it out with headbutts as they get to their feet, trading strikes until Dax takes Okada down hard. Dax goes for a Rainmaker of his own to no avail, but he does hit a discus lariat for a nearfall! Okada tries rolling through but is caught again by the challenger, who gets another nearfall in the process!
Okada back up as he goes for a tombstone…but Dax hits one instead, getting the cover! BUT THE CHAMP KICKS OUT THIS TIME!
Dax goes up top for a diving headbut…but the champ rolls out of the way! Harwood crashes to the mat as Okada gets back up, bringing the challenger back to his feet…but Dax evades the Rainmaker again! Dax goes for the Sharpshooter, but Okada manages to scramble to the ropes to force a break! Okada goes to the outside, grabbing his title as Dax intercepts to bring the champ back in…but as the ref takes the title away, he is distracted from seeing Okada kick the ring rope against Dax’s arm! Okada hits the Rainmaker, getting the pin and the win to retain in our main event!
Winner via pinfall and still AEW Continental Champion: Kazuchika Okada
The Elite quickly rush to the ring to get the jump on Harwood after the match, with Cash Wheeler and Bryan Danielson coming in one by one to even the odds to no avail. The Elite start beating them down until Darby Allin’s music hits…and the Everett crowd pops hard for the former TNT Champion as Darby nails Nicholas in the back with a skateboard!
This is just enough to turn the tide for Team AEW, as we find out via graphic that Darby is officially joining Team AEW in Anarchy in the Arena! The Elite escape to the ramp as their Double Or Nothing foes stare them down before the show comes to a close.
