Following a report from The Wrap claiming that Dwayne Johnson’s “chronic lateness and professionalism” caused massive budget problems for the Amazon MGM film Red One, WWE has responded to claims regarding the former WWE Champion’s appearance at WrestleMania 40.
One claim made by the report was that The Rock arrived three hours late, ahead of the Night One main event that saw him team with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
Chris Legentil, WWE’s executive vice president for Talent Relations and Head of Communications, responded:
“Dwayne was not only on time for WrestleMania, he was hours early to help with rehearsal — and a pleasure to work with throughout the entire run.”
WWE sources also claim that Rock being two hours late to an appearance at WWE World leading up to the two-night event was due to traffic and other WWE-related commitments.
Claims surrounding the upcoming Christmas-themed film have also been refuted, with a spokesperson for the film calling Johnson and his Seven Bucks production team “incredible partners” and stating that reports of extreme lateness are “both ridiculous and false.”
