The Miami Herald is featuring an article on WWE financials heading into Wrestlemania 28 this year in Miami with writer Douglas Hanks painting a rather grim picture despite the company producing another record year of profits in 2011.
Faced with waning profits, drooping attendance, and an ill-fated venture into the movie business, WWE approaches its biggest weekend of the year facing doubts about just how far fan loyalty can carry the company.
“They’ve got their fingers in so many pies now,” said Michael Kupinski, an analyst with Noble Financial Capital who follows WWE stock. “They have to, in my view, start concentrating on what the WWE is good at, and what makes them great.”
