Alpha-1 “Immortal Kombat” rocked the fans packed into Hamilton’s Germania Club March 11th, 2012. A wizard of id review of the event will follow, here are the Quick Results…
1. Zero Gravity Championship:
“The Ronin” Josh Alexander retained the title when he and Alessandro Del Bruno fought to a Double Count-Out. [9:40]
2. Tag Team Grudge Match:
“The Hit” Ashley Sixx & Jimmy Jacobs vs “Surf’s Up” Johnny Wave & “All Ego” Ethan Page match ended in (presumably) a Double Disqualification. [13:15]Things broke down completely when Sixx attacked referee Sean Cassidy at about the 11 minute mark. Ref Morningstar ran out but was unable to restore order and called for the bell to end the match.
– Sixx and Jacobs weren’t finished despite the match being called off. They taped Ethan Page to the ropes and were preparing to damage Johnny Wave’s arm when new A-1 Backstage Interviewer Leah Von Dutch ran out and covered Wave’s fallen body with her own. Sixx teased smacking her with a chair but waffled Page with it instead then Jacobs brutally speared Von Dutch and the two bad guys called it a day.
3. Match to Determine #1 Contender to the Alpha Male Title:
Cheech defeated “Big Rig” Brodie Lee w/ The Convoy (Steve Brown & Magnum) [13:57]
– After losing the match Brodie was pissed off and not happy with his fellow Convoy members for their lack of support during his war with Cheech. He turned to walk away from them and they attacked him. Magnum put Brodie down with a spinebuster then a legdrop to the face. Steve Brown followed up with 2 big splashes. The 2 Convoy members stood above Brodie for a few moments then left him laying in the ring.

[4:42](Christopher Bishop slipped during Checkmate’s run & dive under the ropes ring entrance and MASHED his face into the edge of the ring. Despite an obvious busted nose Bishop didn’t miss a beat.)

The show started with The Society coming to the ring, leading what seemed to be their fourth member, a masked wild man, to the ring by a chained leash. They talked about the nights matches, and how Rich Adams didn’t have a match signed. Kade kept it short, and said whoever survived between D-Man and Chase, would only wind up knocked out in the end. They then prophesied that the event would live up to it’s name. As they were leaving, D-Man came out, saying he was going to get that title shot, and win, and the party would truly start with a celebration.
Rebel Taylor vs Travis Lepage vs Brad Evans
The three men opened the show with a fast paced, technical match which saw the two smaller men working over the big man. Could have gone either way, but Rebel took both men by the throat, and choke slammed them both for the pin and win.

Kyle Cynic vs Eric Motts (Submission Match)
These two heavweights went blow for blow the entire match. There was little focus on submissions or winning for the first 3/4’s of the match. Each man wanted to prove a point, and showcase why they deserve to be in line for the nRw title. They took the match to the outside, where both men took big bumps on the cement floor before Cynic eventually forced Motts to tap out for the win.

Psycho Mike/Midland Mauler vs Kid-X (Last man standing)
These two tore eachother apart trying to get the victory over one another. At one point, even the crowd thought Kid-X might pull it off, but Mauler kept getting back up, over and over. It became obvious that nothing was going to take him down, until The Society intervened, and won the match as a group, putting him down. After the match, rubbing salt in the wound, nRw Champ Kade Kronin, and Rebel Taylor who had JUST aligned with The Society, took Mauler down one last time with their former tag team finish, a combo Powerbomb/Reverse DDT.

The Society then issued the challenge to Mauler. You get your best, we’ve got ours. nRw Uprising in May, elimination style tag match. Winning team walks out with control over nRw as a whole. Mauler was quick to accept, but the crowd was left wondering who would make up the nRw team, seeing as nobody came to his aid during the beat down.
Bruce Nauss vs Pauly Codine
The returning from injury Bruce Nauss came back with a bang as these two former friends, and current rivals, went to war. The ever capitalizing, and cunning mastermind Pauly Codine isolated the previously injured knee, and focused the entire match on working it over. Nauss is never one to give up, and continued to fight, even if it was only on one leg. At one point, everyone was cheering him on, thinking he had the win after a vicious spinebuster, but was all for not, as shortly after, he was forced to tap out while in a single leg crab, nearly folded in half.

Jaze Hart vs Buck Gunderson
The crowd was treated to an appearance from the current Brass Knuckles champion as these two bearded men clashed. Early on, it was classic Buck, as he called each move before he even executed it. Soon, the referee was ordered to watch more sesame street, and learn to count. Buck even brought out a pitch perfect “the count” accent telling him to count 1.. ah ah ah. 2.. ah ah ah. The fans ate it up, and cheered Jaze on, trying to motivate him to get the win, but he came up short as Buck locked on the chickenwing submission for the victory.

Felix Fletcher came out, and welcomed Rich Adams to actually have a match on the card. Rich Adams came out with the rest of The Society. Fletcher then pulled a rabit out of his hat, producing a tag partner for the night, much to the she-grin of The Society. That tag partner, was the just then revealed victim of a pre-show beatdown, Chase Silver. The match was then official.

This became a proposed and accepted NO DQ match, much to the happiness of Kade Kronin who found every weapon in the building for his stable mates to use. The two teams tore eachother to shreds with everything from the chain leash, two screwdrivers, a styrofoam cup, some straws, Kade’s title belt and a canister of zip ties. The match was everywhere and nobody could keep track of all the action, and weapon usage. In the end, Felix hit a twisting sideslam on “Wild Man”, while Rich Adams hit his “stairway to heaven” on Chase. Felix barely edged his 3 count out, while Rich Adams though he got the pin. The Society was none to pleased, and ofcourse they blamed The Wildman for the loss.

D-Man vs Kade Kronin (2 out of 3 falls no dq)
Kade was already at ringside when it was announced he was facing D-Man. No time to plan, no time to regroup. D-Man came out with Brad Evans to even things up. Right from the opening bell, Dman got a quick rollup out of nowhere on Kade, but only for a 2 count, which iritated Kade who then went at him with a Kendo Stick. This sent D-Man outside, and as Kade told the crowd he was going out to get him, D-Man slid in, again getting the jump on him. From there, these men threw the stiffest elbows, forearms, headbutts and kicks. As each one connected, the crowd could be heard groaning out loud in awe. Kade got the first pin, with a rollup of his own, but failed to capitalize as shortly after, Dman evened it up with a rollup counter to a Kryptonite Krunch. The last fall had everyone on the edge of their seats as both men brought out everything they had, including a very stiff enzuguri from Kronin. D-Man wouldn’t stay down, and soon, he was set to hit a moonsault from the top, but was brought back down to the mat from a stiff Kendo stick shot to the back. Kade quickly covered him, and used the middle ropes for leverage as the referee reluctantly made the 3 count. Kade immediately stormed off to a chorus of boos with his title safe for one more show.

The show
1) Sebastian Suave defeated Sexxxy Eddy in a highly entertaining match up. In what would be a common theme during the night, Selezyia Sparx was active during the match, and got involved in the action several times. In the end, Suave walked away victorious, and started the trend of Authority dominance.
2) In an insanity filled match-up, C*4 Tag Team Champions, Chris Bishop and Lionel Knight retained their title, against their opponents. Checkmate used their tag team expertise to beat the tandems of Alex Vega & Johnny Wave, The Afterparty, and 3.O. During the match, the ring post connection to the top rope snapped – yet despite this, all eight men gave it every thing they had, and dazzled the crowd.
3) Twiggy shockingly forced Addy Starr to submit to a figure-four leg-lock in a heated grudge match. Twiggy shocked many in attendance by sporting a different outfit (a zubaz & bodysuit combination) – and new entrance music. Perhaps most shocking of all was his proclamation after the match that he was now recognized as the “Inter-Gender Champion of the World”. He then proceeded to challenge all women in the audience to face him. Truly making a declaration of his intentions to the C*4 audience – when he told a member of the crowd, “I don’t want to fight you, I want to fight your girlfriend!”.
4) Prior to the next match, “MVP” Michael Von Payton informed the crowd that Franky the Mobster wasn’t there, and for one night only, he would “re-open the MVP invitational. In a shocking Ottawa-debut, Darkko pinned Von Payton, following a choke- slam off the top rope, after Rahim Ali distracted MVP on the outside.
5) Mere moments into the “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin and “Ronin” Josh Alexander match-up, “Mr. Wrestling” Kevin Steen, stormed the ring and attacked both men. He stated on the mic, that as the best wrestler in Canada, he obviously takes the rising star status of both men as a threat – and since his opponent couldn’t be there, he challenged both to a three-way dance.
In a highly competitive match-up, Josh Alexander, seized his opportunity and won the match – managing to knock Steen unconscious and knocking him out of the ring – before nailing Elgin with a series of roaring elbows, before pinning him.
After the match, Elgin thanked C*4 fans for their support over the years, and told them to keep their eyes on Josh Alexander. As Elgin left the ring, the fans rose to their feet, and slapped the canvas to support Alexander.
As Alexander enjoyed his moment of glory, Selezyia Sparx (who had been watching the match from the entrance area), informed Josh that she was there to invite him to join The Authority on behalf of Stu Grayson.
Alexander responded and stated that he had “already” done the group thing, having both stood along side Mike Rollins in The Warriors, and more recently as a member of The NBA with MVP and Rahim Ali. He respectfully declined the offer.
Taking this as an insult, Selezyia slapped Alexander three times, before the “Ronin” lost his patience and grabbed Sparx, setting her up for his double-underhook piledriver. Before he could complete the move, Mathieu St. Jacques and Thomas Dubois ran to the ring, along with Sebastian Suave, and attacked Alexander. The trio mercilessly beat up Alexander for several moments before Player Uno & “Speedball” Mike Bailey stormed the ring, and fought off the trio. Which lead to our next match…
6) The Authority team of Mathieu St. Jacques and Thomas Dubois defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Player Uno, in a hard hitting, back and forth tag team match. It was clear throughout the match that Uno was becoming more and more frustrated with St. Jacques & Dubois bending of the rules. Obvious as well is Uno’s frustrations towards The Authority as well. In the end, Dubois and St. Jacques managed to score a pinfall, with a handful of tights.
After the match, Uno lost his temper and attacked St. Jacques. Ignoring senior official Bakias warning’s to back-off, Uno was threatened with a suspension if he didn’t back off. A moment later and a continued shuffle between all four men, saw Uno accidentally punching Bakais in the face, knocking him unconscious.
Bailey and other officials helped Bakais to the back, while Dubois and St. Jacques were obviously pleased in what hey had accomplished.
Prior to the start of the next match, “MVP” Michael Von Payton came to the ring and told C*4 fans that it was obvious that Rahim Ali wasn’t going to stop targeting him. Von Payton declared that he had tried to warn Ali to retire, but Ali refused to listen – and on April 21st, that he wanted it to end. Von Payton challenged Ali to a retirement match.
Rahim Ali came to the ring, and accepted the challenge. Von Payton and Ali shook hands. In a shocking moment, MVP attempted to attack Ali only to see Ali counter, and drop MVP on his head. Ali took the mic and informed the crowd and MVP that he was medically cleared to wrestle, and ready for April 21st.
7) In the Main Event, C*4 Champion, “The Emperor” Stu Grayson narrowly managed to retain his belt, outlasting “Hacker” Scotty O’Shea, Jae Rukin,, and “The AllStarter” Brent B.
All four men gave it everything they had – and then some, in their attempt to take the C*4 strap away from Grayson. However, a miscue on the part of the referee and the four combatant,s left the referee knocked out, and chaos looked to reign. In this instance, The Authority reared their ugly head, and assisted Grayson in his championship conquest.
Mid-way through the match, St. Jacques and Dubois came from the back and focused their attentions on distracting Rukin and Brent B – and soon focused on assaulting Rukin & Brent, allowing Stu to focus on O’Shea.
O’Shea managed to rally and have Stu on the run, until Sebastian Suave headed to the ring, looking to distract him. The resilient ‘Hacker’ countered and dropkicked Suave off the apron. And, in a shocking moment, Player Uno ran from the back, and levelled Grayson, assiting in O’Shea getting the upper hand. With the fans on their feet, O’Shea nailed his Ctrl-Alt-Delete finishing move, and went for the pin. Once again, however, Grayson managed to kick out. O’Shea continued to fight, but Grayson managed to lock in his dragon sleeper, and a few moments later, Scotty tapped out.
The night ended with The Authority claiming victory, and Grayson surviving the deck stacked against him.
