John Cena appeared as a guest as ESPN First Take, where a conversation around his choice of attire was brought up.
The former WWE Champion was asked if he prefers jorts (jean shorts) or suits, much like what he wore at the appearance, to which Cena responded:
“So it depends. It depends. If we’re talking WrestleMania 40 — crossing my fingers — I hope the jorts are there. If we’re talking First Take, I will do my best to put on a waistcoat for you guys.”
Dave Meltzer previously reported that Cena’s acting schedule will determine his availability for WrestleMania, with an understanding that any appearance might be “fun, short, and memorable” rather than something that could be deemed a physical risk.
Cena made an extended return to the company last fall due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes affecting the film and television industry, last appearing at Crown Jewel in a match against Solo Sikoa.
WrestleMania 40 takes place Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
