Florida Championship Wrestling Results

Hello everyone, and welcome to the latest trek to the land of the Sunshine State with this week’s FCW recap. If you all are ready, then let’s get on with the show!
Your announcers are Chris Russo, William Regal & Byron Saxton.
We open the show with Bo Rotundo & Husky Harris in the back and are alerted to something outside and see Leakee in the back after being attacked in the parking lot.
The Assistant to the FCW General Manager, Abraham Washington comes to the ring with the FCW Tag Team Title belts. He announces that the Tag Titles had to be vacated and that they will determine the new FCW Tag Champions when Bo Rotundo & Husky Harris will face Brad Maddox and a tag team partner of his choosing.
Brad Maddox comes out and he appears heartbroken. He talks about the tragedy of Briley Pierce’s injured leg and how he would be unable to wrestle for a while. Brad mentions that he has searched for a new partner and it is . . . Eli Cottonwood.
FCW Tag Team Titles: Husky Harris & Bo Rotundo def. Brad Maddox and Eli Cottonwood by pinfall to become the new FCW Tag Team Champions when Rotundo pinned Maddox after a spear.
After the match, Maddox yelled at Cottonwood and pushed him a few times. Cottonwood then chokeslammed Maddox and left.
Mr. Antonio Cesaro def. Xavier Woods by pinfall with a European uppercut.
FCW 15 Champion Richie Steamboat comes out to the interview area and says that he wants to make Jack Brisco proud as the champion. He announces that he will be facing Damien Sandow in a rematch next week.
Damien Sandow then comes out and he demands that the lights be brought up in the arena and then turned off so he can have his SPOTLIGHT. When the spotlight goes on Sandow, he is drilled by a superkick from Steamboat.
The Road Dogg then comes out and joins Saxton & Russo at the announce table.
FCW Champion Leo Kruger comes out and he talks about Leakee and how he must look to the future. He wants to give an underdog a chance so he has initiated the Leo Kruger Classic. It will be a non-title match, but if that person can win the match, they will get a future FCW Title match. However, if that person loses, then they will never get a FCW Title match again.
Main Event in the “Leo Kruger Classic”: Mike Dalton def, FCW Champion Leo Kruger by pinfall with an Impaler DDT after the Road Dogg brought Kruger back into the ring after Kruger had tried to leave the ringside area.
With the win, Dalton earns himself a future FCW Title match.
My Thoughts
Another solid show this week.
First off, its a shame that Briley Pierce got injured because he and Brad Maddox were starting to really gel in their odd couple tag team pairing. But from a negative comes a positive as I thought it was a really good move to put the belts on the Rotundo brothers. Both Bo & Husky are really good as babyfaces, especially Bo, and they are going to do a good job at getting heel teams over.
The opening match itself was OK, but once again when everyone not named Eli Cottonwood was in the ring. When Cottonwood was in there, it was just not good. However, in terms of an overall match, it was decent but Cottonwood’s involvement definitely dropped the match down a peg.
Cesaro & Woods had a much better outing than their last match a month back. Seemed like they watched tape of that match and definitely improved on it. Woods was good on the FIP, and Cesaro did a much better job on his control segment, Good effort by both, much improved.
The Steamboat/Sandow angle was fine, but who thought it was a good idea to give Richie Steamboat a microphone? He talks about as good as he wrestles, which isn’t that good. Sandow was good in his role, and Steamboat was actually decent with what he did to exact some revenge on Sandow. Decent angle, but never, I mean EVER, give Richie Steamboat a microphone again.
The main event was solid to almost good as Dalton and Kruger once again put a lot of effort into their match. It was about as good as their match last month, and Dalton has improved from this push he has received, which is a good sign. Liked the involvement of the Road Dogg, as it gave a Kruger an out for the loss.
Overall, another solid show as FCW is starting to get on a roll with their TV, much like ROH, which I am happy to see. Recommend checking out the main event match, as that was the best thing on the show.
