TNA IMPACT Results – 2/1/24 (Nic Nemeth vs. Trey Miguel and more!)

Nic Nemeth vs. Trey Miguel w/ Zachary Wentz

After defeating Zachary Wentz last week, Nic Nemeth must now lock horns with another Rascal in Trey Miguel! Nemeth clotheslines Miguel over the top rope to the floor. Wentz provides a momentary distraction, allowing Miguel to take him out with a dive. Back in the ring, Miguel rakes the eyes, then drives Nemeth shoulder-first into the steel ring post. Nemeth creates separation with a mid-air dropkick to counter Miguel’s springboard. Nemeth delivers repeated elbow drops but Miguel kicks out. Wentz trips up Nemeth in the corner and the referee ejects him from ringside. Miguel soars with the Meteora off the distraction but it’s not enough. Nemeth connects with the superkick to win.

After the match, Steve Maclin blindsides Nemeth as the Rascalz join him for a 3-on-1 assault.

Kon tells Deaner that The Design is dead and tonight, he is going to remind the world who the baddest man in TNA is.

Knockouts World Tag Team Champions Decay (Havok & Rosemary) vs. Mila Moore & Savannah Thorne

The new Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, Havok and Rosemary, are in action for the first time since winning the titles at Hard To Kill! MK Ultra are seen watching the match on a monitor backstage. Havok hits Thorne with a Death Valley Driver. Havok puts Thorne away with an assisted sit-down powerbomb.

Gia Miller catches up with the former Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, MK Ultra. Killer Kelly says that they want a rematch against Decay at No Surrender. Tensions are high when Dani Luna and Jody Threat interrupt.

Alan Angels Hosts Sound Check With Special Guest Josh Alexander

Alan Angels welcomes Josh Alexander as the first guest on his new talk show, Sound Check. Alexander is coming off a huge victory over Will Ospreay just two weeks ago, and says that his sights are now set on reclaiming the TNA World Championship. Angels accuses Alexander of stepping on some toes to get to the top and calls him ungrateful. Angels says that Alexander is not setting a good example for his son, causing Alexander to storm off the set.

Brian Myers vs. Kevin Knight

Brian Myers takes to the ring on behalf of The System as he goes one-on-one with the surging Kevin Knight! Knight gains the early advantage with a springboard crossbody. Myers rolls to the outside where he hits a belly-to-back suplex on the floor. Back in the ring, Myers grounds Knight and slows the pace down. Knight creates separation, allowing to soar with a top rope crossbody. Knight hits a pinpoint DDT but Myers grabs the bottom rope. Myers uses the rope to deliver a low blow, followed by the Implant DDT for two. Myers hits the Roster Cut clothesline to win.

After the match, Eddie and Alisha Edwards join Brian Myers in the ring but just as they’re about to add insult to injury, KUSHIDA evens the odds for Knight.

X-Division Champion Chris Sabin’s interview is interrupted by another commercial from Mustafa Ali, who we learned will be arriving in TNA Wrestling in the near future. The Good Hands tell Sabin that Ali is going to be the next X-Division Champion. Sabin vows to prove him wrong by making a match between him and John Skyler next week.

We Hear From Frankie Kazarian

Frankie Kazarian explains his actions after turning his back on Eric Young and assaulting him. Kazarian says that two years ago, he came back and saved this company. He claims to have given more than anyone else and now, it’s time to start taking. Kazarian intends to become a monster because the hero doesn’t succeed in this business. Kazarian calls Eric Young a king of TNA Wrestling while he was a soldier in the trenches. Kazarian promises to become a king so that people will remember him, no matter the cost. As Kazarian is making his exit, Eric Young is seen watching on from behind the curtain.

Alex Shelley confronts The System and tells Moose that he’s getting his contractually-obligated rematch for the TNA World Championship at No Surrender.

Deaner is in the ring and admits that the group he created, The Design, is dead. Deaner admits that it’s his fault for trying to resurrect Violent By Design when he’s interrupted by PCO.

The bell rings and we’ve got an impromptu match between Deaner and PCO! PCO makes quick work of Deaner, putting him away with a thudding PCO Sault.

After the match, Kon attacks PCO from behind. Kon turns his attention towards Deaner and viciously snaps his neck. PCO sits up but Kon puts him to sleep with a Mandible Claw.

Neither Rich Swann or Rhino want any help from AJ Francis.

Masha Slamovich w/ Killer Kelly vs. Jody Threat w/ Dani Luna

Jody Threat is out for revenge after MK Ultra sent a physical message to her and Dani Luna last week! Slamovich hits a series of clotheslines. Threat bounces back with a pump kick, followed by double knees to the back. Threat hits a German suplex for two. Kelly trips up Threat from the outside but Luna neutralizes her. Slamovich capitalizes off the distraction with the Snowplow to win.

There’s a commotion backstage and it appears that The System has attacked Alex Shelley’s longtime friend, KUSHIDA.

TNA World Tag Team Champions ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) vs. Grizzled Young Vets (Zack Gibson & James Drake) Match 1 in the Best of 3 Series for the TNA World Tag Team Championships

ABC and the Grizzled Young Vets kick off their Best of 3 Series for the TNA World Tag Team Championships! Gibson wears Bey down with a headlock. Bey creates separation with a swinging neckbreaker, then makes the tag to Austin. The pace quickens as Austin goes on the attack. Austin takes out both members of GYV with a double springboard dropkick. Austin connects with a stomp but Drake kicks out at two. Bey hits Drake with a top rope Frog Splash for two. Gibson holds on to Austin the corner, allowing Drake to catch him with a running dropkick. Drake leaps off the top but Austin clobbers him with a spin kick. ABC have Gibson beat following an assisted neckbreaker but Drake breaks the pin attempt. Both teams slug it out in the middle of the ring. Drake takes out Bey by sending him crashing into the steel ring steps. Austin Soars to Glory as he collides with Gibson on the floor. Drake chokes Austin with his scarf, allowing GYV to put him away with Grit Your Teeth.
