Deadline has reported that Red One, an “epic Christmas action comedy” from Amazon MGM Studios and Seven Bucks Productions, has set an exclusive worldwide theatrical release for November 15, 2024.
The report notes that the film, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris Evans, will be up against films like Alto Knights staring Robert De Niro and an adaptation of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever from Lionsgate.
Johnson gave a lot of praise for the film’s plot in an Instagram post from November 2022:
“Our movie is a big, fun, action packed and fresh new take on Christmas. Think JUMANJI meets MIRACLE ON 34TH ST meets HOBBS & SHAW with a dash of HARRY POTTER and sprinkled on top with my all-time favorite Christmas movie, ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE…”
Red One is directed by Jake Kasdan, who previously worked with Johnson on the previous Jumanji films.
