To follow up on reports that CM Punk was denied permission to walk with Chael Sonnen to the octagon at UFC on FOX 2 on 1/28 in Chicago, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported this week that Punk was told before Raw on 1/9 that Vince McMahon wanted to talk with him about it. Punk reportedly figured out at that point he wasn’t going to be allowed to do it and was told it was “not advisable for him not to attend the show at all.” Punk and Sonnen are friends and it was Sonnen’s idea to have Punk walk him out since the show was in Chicago.
