It was announced via IMPACT Wrestling’s website that KUSHIDA has signed a contract with the company, soon to be rebranded as TNA Wrestling.
The six-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion has regularly competed for IMPACT since arriving last year, as part of a working relationship between IMPACT and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
In a later interview with the Battleground Podcast, KUSHIDA confirmed he will be working for both companies going forward:
“The relationship between me and New Japan Pro Wrestling can remain, there is no need (for) change.”
KUSHIDA has also made it clear that he has his mind set on winning a championship with the company after failing to capture the World Championship and the X-Division title on different occasions.
“I believe I need to win the TNA title in 2024 to further advance my career. I want to become a world champion, X-Division Champion, and break down the borders that exist in this world.”
The international star was last seen in IMPACT as part of a Feast or Fired match at IMPACT 1000 in September, and last competed in New Japan at NJPW STRONG Lonestar Shootout on 11/10.
