In regards to reports yesterday about WWE Champion CM Punk appearing at the UFC on FOX 2 show on 1/28 in Chicago escorting Chael Sonnen to the octagon, PWInsider.com reports that this wasn’t a deal made between UFC and WWE. It appears this was a deal made between Punk and Sonnen and it doesn’t appear to be something involving a promotional agreement. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported this week that Punk asked for the night off (WWE is holding a Supershow event in Evansville, IN the night before the Royal Rumble) and was granted it by WWE.
