Scott Garland, better known as Scotty 2 Hotty, spoke to Wrestling With Johners ahead of an upcoming tour of the UK and Europe.
During the interview he addressed what he has been up to lately, confirming that he was working with AEW in a backstage capacity.
“I don’t think it’s a huge secret that I’ve been working for AEW as a producer behind the scenes, as a coach and producer there. I have an opportunity to do more with them, on a regular basis.
It looks like at the beginning of the year, I’ll be going pretty hard with them if everything works out the way I hope it does.”
Garland, a former WWE Tag Team and Light Heavyweight Champion, worked as a trainer in NXT from 2016 to 2021 before being granted his release from WWE, allowing him to return to the independent scene to work various dates and tours around the world.
