According to reports from Fightful Select and F4WOnline, WWE Superstar Bianca Belair is reportedly taking time off.
The reports note that Belair is taking anywhere from under a month to “possibly three months” off. Belair had won the WWE Women’s Championship back at SummerSlam on August 5 in Detroit in a three-way against Asuka and Charlotte Flair. She had injured her knee on the steel steps as she was sent over the ropes by Flair. After the match, IYO SKY took advantage of the injured Belair and cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase, thus defeating Belair to win the WWE Women’s Championship for the first time.
During the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, Belair and Flair defeated Bayley and IYO SKY in a tag team match. After the match, in a backstage segment, Damage CTRL attacked the knee of Belair. In was noted in both reports that the knee injury to Belair was part of the storyline.
Fightful Select concluded by saying Belair has received praise for her run with then the Raw Women’s Championship, despite the media schedule and the community events she would take part in.
