WWE and Britney Abrahams filed a joint motion before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York back on August 25. Both WWE and Abrahams each jointly asked for the court to extend WWE’s due date ahead to November 3, 2023 in order for WWE to respond to Abrahams’ lawsuit. The extension was signed by Magistrate Judge Ramon E. Reyes, Jr. on August 28.
Back on August 17, Abrahams had filed a motion asking the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York to dismiss her lawsuit against Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and other WWE executives.
Abrahams original lawsuit alleged that she was discriminated against and fired for objecting to put “offensively racist and stereotypical jargon” in television scripts for black performers. Abrahams who was let go from WWE two years ago, also claims complaints she had made were ignored. She also includes in her allegations, she was also let go because she took home a commemorative WrestleMania 37 chair, which she insists was a cover up by WWE for the real reason she was fired.
WWE remains as the only defendant at this time.
