According to a new report by TMZ, WWE Superstar Bray Wyatt (real name Windham Rotunda), had experienced a series of heart complications in the months leading up to his passing.
TMZ also notes that according to investigators, when Windham was found, he was not wearing a doctor-recommended heart defibrillator. It was said the device was later located in his vehicle.
According to law enforcement records, obtained by TMZ, Windham told his fiance’ – former WWE Raw ring announcer JoJo Offerman he was going to take a nap on Thursday. Offerman then had become concerned when she heard his alarm going off about an hour later without stopping.
Law enforcement records further note Windham was discovered in his bed, not breathing and had turned blue. Offerman then immediately called 911, as her mother attempted to do CPR on Windham. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Law enforcement who spoke with Windham’s immediate family said that he had contracted COVID back in March and developed heart complications, which caused him to have a “weak lower part of his heart.”
TMZ further notes that just a week prior to his passing, Windham was hospitalized for a heart issue. He also had a follow-up appointment with doctors the morning he had passed away and was advised by doctors to continue wearing the external heart defibrillator.
He was only 36 at the time of his passing.
