AEW star Jon Moxley took home gold at this past Saturday’s North American Grappling Association’s Grappling Championship event, which was held at the Elite Athletic Sports Complex in Cincinnati, Ohio. He competed under his real name of Jonathan Goode.
It was noted by ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Moxley won his division in a jiu-jitsui tournament, defeating Chris Sailor 4-0 on points in the men’s beginner 30-years-old-and-up no-gi division at super heavyweight (225 to 249.9 lbs.). Moxley represented Powell MMA & Fitness.
AEW backstage interviewer Renee Paquette, Moxley’s wife, posted a photo on Instagram of Moxley showing off his gold medal to their daughter. She also included a caption of “When daddy gets first place at grappling tournament.”
Moxley will be a participant in Blood & Guts on this coming Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite live from TD Garden in Boston, MA.
