According to PWInsider, Brian Pillman, Jr. has departed AEW. The report also noted that his deal will not be renewed. It was further said that the door remains open for Pillman and AEW to possibly work together again in the future.
Fightful noted in their report they reached out to Pillman, Jr. for comment and confirmation. As of this writing, Pillman, Jr. has not commented on, or confirmed his departure. It should be noted that AEW has been removed him from their roster page.
Pillman. Jr. has not wrestled for AEW since May 13 at the company’s House Rules in Salem, Virginia, when he teamed with Brock Anderson to take on The Gunns (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn). He hasn’t wrestled on AEW television since the April 11 episode of the now canceled AEW Dark against Matt Taven.
Pillman, Jr. made his AEW debut at the Double or Nothing 2019 pay-per-view as part of the Casino Battle Royale. He most notably teamed with Griff Garrison, and together they were called the Varsity Blondes. The tag team were accompanied by Julia Hart before she joined the House of Black.
