According to Fightful Select, Bray Wyatt is reportedly still sidelined with the same illness that has kept him out of action since February.
The report also notes Wyatt was scheduled to begin a feud with Bobby Lashley in a storyline that would have also involved the Uncle Howdy character and Alexa Bliss, but Wyatt’s illness has led to all involved, including Lashley not being used.
Fightful Select also has said WWE has been hesitant in making creative plans for Wyatt, as getting him cleared to compete has been a more difficult process than the company has expected. Furthermore, the report notes it does not help that Alexa Bliss is now pregnant and on maternity leave for the foreseeable future. Any creative plans WWE had for Bliss is now not even a possibility, despite Wyatt’s continued health issues.
Wyatt made his return at last October’s Extreme Rules premium live event. Since his return, he has only wrestled one televised match, which was against LA Knight at the this year’s Royal Rumble, before he came down with an undisclosed illness. He, did however, appear and wrestle at some WWE house shows.
Also according to Fightful Select, Raw Superstar Johnny Gargano also has been out of action.
The report notes Gargano was said to have been suffering from a shoulder injury. He is said to no longer be injured and is now doing fine.
Furthermore, Gargano had apparently been penciled in for some kind of involvement at the June 19 Raw, which had taken place in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Those plans were, however reportedly nixed.
As of this writing, Gargano’s status for SummerSlam is not known. His status of a possible reunion with Tommaso Ciampa as DIY in also not known.
