The Hollywood Reporter is featuring an article about YouTube announcing a new TV initiative with 100 “niche channels” in an effort to compete with cable and satellite providers.
WWE will be among many that will be getting their own YouTube channel along with HSN, Ashton Kutcher, Amy Poehler, Ben Silverman’s Electus, CSI creator Anthony Zuiker, Everyday Health, Iconic Entertainment and former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal. Google, which owns YouTube, will spend an estimated $150 million in advances for the creation of the channels.
