According to Fightful Select, WWE has not been announcing premium live events not as far in advance as in the recent past, due to a desire to maximize a much as possible. Last year, WWE announced all dates and locations well in advance.
It was also noted that WWE officials have tried to be as strategic as possible with premium live events as far as locations, and then announcing them. Furthermore it was stated that factors of economics, storylines, and audience growth are go into weighing out on making decisions.
Fightful Select concluded with noting that by WWE announcing the premium live events individually, it allows each announcement to have its own special moment, like done on Tuesday with Paul Heyman on The Pat McAfee show, announcing Fastlane for Saturday, October 7 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Furthermore, WWE officials have said they are very pleased with how the announcements have played out so far this year.
WWE announced last Friday, Payback for Saturday, September 2 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.
