Reports indicate possible CM Punk appearance on AEW Dynamite, comments on Collision were “completely off the cuff”

After making his return to AEW on Saturday night for the premiere episode of Collision, there has been speculation that Punk will appear on this week’s Dynamite.

A report from Fightful Select has stated that The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) did pre-tapes to progress some of their angles, with “a good chance they’re not in the arena” for Dynamite on June 21.

Those close to Punk have claimed that he would be at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

Punk had a promo to open the show before being part of a trios main event as he teamed with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to take on ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe and Bullet Club Gold.

A report from PWInsider indicates that the verbiage in Punk’s promo on Collision was not pre-written and approved, but rather “completely off the cuff” as he was given the freedom to speak to the crowd as he saw fit.

The current lineup for Dynamite this Wednesday in Chicago is as follows:

  • The Hardys vs. The Gunns
  • Zack Sabre Jr. & Daniel Garcia vs. Orange Cassidy & Katsuyori Shibata
  • Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki & Sammy Guevara vs. AR Fox, Darius Martin & Action Andretti
  • Jeff Jarrett vs. Mark Briscoe Concession Stand Brawl
