My Thoughts
If it wasn’t for that main event, than this would have been another OK episode of Superstars this week. However, that main event tag was very good, and worth checking out. All 4 men did a great job in that match, and all put a great effort out for the Mexican crowd.
Rest of the show was OK. DiBiase and Mahal had a solid match that may have gone on a little too long for my taste. Nice to see Mahal get a decent match under his belt, as he was struggling for sometime. But hey, you get babyface Ted DiBiase, and you are going to put on a decent performance by proxy.
Santino and Slater was a decent comedy outing, but I feel they may be starting to overexpose Santino a little bit. Sure, I know he is there for fun and nothing else. However, he should be used in small doses and not on a consistent basis IMO. Too much of him and it tends to get a bit repetitive.
Finally, as I mentioned, the main event was a really good match. McGillicutty is really starting to show me something. Like McIntyre prior, it took a long time, but to me, everything is starting to slowly come together for McGillicutty in the ring, which is a very promising sign. McIntyre continues to show why he is vastly underutilized, and Air Boom had a nice showcase to put under their belt, with the right roles enforced, of Bourne the FIP and Kingston, while he may be too flippy, is a good hot tag. Good main event on an otherwise OK show.
My Grade: B-
Well, that will do it for this week. I want to thank you all for reading and I will be back at you with a double dosage of recaps Monday with ROH on Sinclair and the weekly trek to the land of the Sunshine State with FCW TV. Until then, have a good weekend and see you on Monday!
