A new report from PWInsider Elite, there has been a push within WWE creative to get Drew McIntyre back into storylines by Money in the Bank Weekend in London, England.
The report also notes meetings were held last week to discuss different ideas for getting him back into current storylines and back on WWE TV. However, there is no word on if WWE has booked him for an upcoming return.
PWInsider Elite also states there has been no updates on whether McIntyre has signed a new contract, but it is believed that until McIntyre and WWE come to an agreement on how he will be used creativity moving forward, he will not be back on house shows or back on WWE TV.
McIntyre’s current WWE contract reportedly expires in early 2024.
PWInsider Elite concluded by saying a significant issue in the current contract talks between WWE and McIntyre, again goes back to how he will be used creatively, specifically as it relates to meaningful storylines. With less than a year left on his current deal, it is said that McIntyre has indicated he does not want to be just be aimlessly floating around when he already proved during the COVID-19 pandemic how important overall he is to WWE, not only the ring, but as an overall ambassador to the company.
