KENTA defeated Nick Wayne at the DEFY Your Nightmare event on Saturday, June 3 held at the Washington Hall in Seattle to become the brand new DEFY World Champion.
KENTA hit Wayne with a low blow, a belt shot, and then a GTS to get the pin. Wayne had first won the title back on April 8 when he defeated Swerve Strickland. This is KENTA’s first time as the DEFY World Championship. He is also the current NJPW Never Openweight Champion.
Wayne who is signed to AEW and will make his in-ring and TVdebut, in a match against Swerve Strickland on the July 12 episode of Dynamite, which will take place from the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, SK.
