Gable Steveson, who signed with WWE in 2021 through their Next In Line program, recently made a return to the world of amateur wrestling by competing at the 2023 US Open Wrestling Championships, as approved by WWE.
Speaking to KSTB Sports, Steveson stated that he had been given the approval for “a couple tournaments” but is awaiting that same type of approval to enter the 2024 Olympics.
“I think time will tell the Olympics story. Who knows because it’s a year away but I think we’re in good strides to make that progression.”
Steveson has been training at the Performance Center as of late, making signs of progress after undergoing a heart procedure last September to treat Wolf-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome.
He last appeared on WWE television on December 9, as part of a segment with Kurt Angle and the Alpha Academy on SmackDown.
