According to F4WOnline, CM Punk is set to return to AEW at the debut episode of Collision on Saturday, June 17.
AEW CEO, President and General Manager Tony Khan announced during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite that the debut episode will take place from the United Center in Chicago, IL, but did not mention CM Punk.
June 17 will be Punk’s first appearance on AEW television since last September’s AEW All Out PPV, when he had a fight backstage with EVP’s Young Bucks and Kenny Omega after Punk’s spoke at the post-event press conference.
F4WOnline also notes that the final meeting between Punk and Tony Khan “went well” and that, “there are a number of other issues worked out including an agreement that nobody will speak publicly on the brawl after All Out last year.”
As it pertains to Ace Steel who was released by Khan for his involvement in the backstage fight, F4WOnline notes that Steel has been under a contract for “many weeks” and that he will be working from home as part of the arrangement. Steel has been longtime friend of Punk.
