F4WOnline has provided an update on the injuries of Dakota Kai and Liv Morgan.
We had previously reported that Kai had been injured. However, at the time of our original report, the extent of her injury was unknown.
The new report from F4WOnline indicates Kai’s injury is confirmed to be a torn ACL and that Morgan has a shoulder injury.
The report notes the injury happened during the Women’s Tag Team Championship Match, which took place back on the May 12 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, where Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defended the titles against Kai & Bayley. Morgan was also injured during the same match.
It was further said, that the word is Kai’s injury happened after Morgan injured her shoulder and that Kai’s knee injury came in a spot where she knew Morgan had been hurt and was trying to protect her.
Kai is said to be scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.
As of this writing, there is no timeline on how long Morgan and Kai will be out of action.
On last Friday night’s WWE SmackDown, it was announced that Morgan and Rodriguez were forced to relinquish the Women’s Tag Titles after only holding them for just 39 days. During a backstage segment with Kayla Braxton interviewing Rodriguez, Bayley and IYO SKY came in an interrupted the interview, saying that Kai had suffered a “much more devastating, and heartbreaking injury.”
A four-way tag team match to crown new champions will take place on the May 29 episode of Monday Night Raw. The match will be Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler vs. Bayley and SKY vs. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville vs. Rodriguez and a mystery partner. WWE has yet to officially announced who Rodriguez’s partner will be. However, WWE taped the May 26 episode of SmackDown, which reveals who Rodriguez’s partner will more than likely be.
