Chris Jericho and Adam Cole are set to square off in an unsanctioned match at Double or Nothing. The match between Jericho and Cole was confirmed on Friday’s AEW Rampage, which aired at 6:30 pm ET, due to coverage of the NBA Playoffs .
During the show, footage was shown with Cole helping Roderick Strong defeat Jericho on this pastWednesday’s Dynamite in a falls count anywhere match. Jericho then ran down Cole, who was shown outside of the arena. After some back and forth between the two, Jericho said he had lifted the restraining order that kept Cole outside of the arena and challenged him to an unsanctioned match at Double or Nothing. After a commercial break, Cole then was seen entering through the crowd. Jericho left commentary as the two had a brawl that had to be broken up by security.
Cole and Jericho began feuding soon after the Revolution this past March. A confrontation between Jericho and Cole led to the Jericho Appreciation Society attacking Cole and then forcing him to watch the Outcasts attack his girlfriend Britt Baker. After Cole and Baker both retaliated, Jericho announced that he put a restraining order on Cole, which would keep him away from arenas during Dynamite and Rampage. Jericho claimed to that with Cole in the same building, he would be in an unsafe working environment.
