According to a new report from F4WOnline, the debut episode of AEW Collision will be named, “The Second Coming.” This continues to fuel the rumors for CM Punk’s return.
The new show is expected to be announced this coming Wednesday, May 17 at the Warner Bros Discovery upfronts in New York.
WBD and AEW’s current agreement includes an option year for WBD that could potentially see an extension through September 2024. As of now, it is not known if an entirely new deal will be announced at the WBD upfronts next week, a deal for just AEW Collision, or possibly a deal that includes streaming rights to AEW pay-per-views events.
Earlier this week there were rumors the new deal is a five-year, $5 billion deal. However, this has not been confirmed. What is known about the new deal is that WBD has full rights to all of AEW’s programming, which is what has led to the belief of why Dark and Dark Elevation had come to an end.
During last week’s Dynamite, AEW CEO and President Tony Khan said he will have a “major announcement” that will be made on TNT on May 17, which is the same day as the upfronts.
