Following reports on his status with WWE being put put on pause after an unofficial hiring freeze began, Colby Corino talked to Matt Koon about the situation in an interview for the Wrestling Friends podcast.
According to Corino, the deal was nearly finalized pending a background check, only for something to come up that seemed to cause an issue:
“I get told there was a problem with my background check and there was something from seven years ago and that I needed to handle that and after that, I’d be good. Now, I’m good to go, and it seems like that’s not the case anymore.”
Asked for clarity on the situation, Corino noted he didn’t have all the information he wanted, but that “for right now, it’s not a closed door.”
