According to F4WOnline, a new TV rights deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery will be announced as part of the network upfronts next Wednesday, May 17 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The report also notes the deal and the heavily rumored and much talked about Collision show will also be part of the announcement.
The number of years and the amount of money on the new deal are unknown, nor who will be in attendance from AEW.
Upfronts are events which are held by networks designed to drive advertiser interest in upcoming slates of programming.
It has been previously reported the new deal gives WBD exclusivity on AEW programming, which is why both Dark and Dark: Elevation recently ended their run on YouTube. The new deal, however, does not include Ring of Honor which streams exclusively the ROH HonorClub subscription service.
Back in January 2020, both sides announced a four-year extension. The previous four-year deal between AEW and WBD runs through the end of 2023. That extension was for $175 million total with an option year at “a significantly increased price.”
