WWE Hall of Famer reveals he recently nearly died twice

Michigan Live picked up on a story from Detroit native WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently revealing that he recently almost died twice.

During a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff said that he did not read the directions properly when adding psyllium husks to his diet and used way too much.

Bischoff said the result was a major health scare that included his blood pressure dropping to very low levels, passing blood in his urine and passing out. He said that while he and his wife were waiting for the medics to arrive at his home, he passed out again, hitting his face and cutting the bridge of his nose.

The Michigan Live article notes Bischoff was hospitalized for two days before doctors convinced him that he needed surgery on his intestines. While undergoing the surgery, doctors determined if he was losing too much blood and the hospital had run out of his blood type. Bischoff said doctors stopped the procedure so he could be transported to a hospital in Billings, Montana which was better suited to treat him.

Bischoff ended up being hospitalized in the intensive-care unit for a few more days before the doctors eventually felt he was well enough to return home. Bischoff said he has stopped passing blood and is feeling much better. However, the doctors told him that they could not determine where the bleeding started or how it started.

Bischoff said “The doctor did tell me – you almost died twice, you almost died in Cody (Wyoming) and you almost died here. But I made it.”
