According to a report from Fightful Select, an anonymous higher-up within WWE is pushing back against apparent belief the company does not see Sami Zayn as a top star.
The report also notes that the higher-up said that since last summer, Zayn has been seen as company’s MVP. This individual also said to Fightful that everyone in WWE has been excited with Zayn’s performance and the reception he’s received from the fans. The same higher-up also told Fightful Select that even though Zayn is not in the main event at WrestleMania, the storyline with Zayn and Kevin Owens challenging the Usos for the tag team titles is seen as big for WrestleMania 39.
Fightful Select concluded their report by noting that the anonymous higher-up closed their discussion by saying: “Just because he isn’t competing for the championship, doesn’t mean he isn’t viewed at that level.”
