We had previously reported that Vince McMahon was backstage at TD Garden in Boston for Monday’s WWE Raw.
According to PWInsider Elite and Fightful Select, McMahon was at Raw primarily to visit with John Cena, who made his return to WWE Raw, accepting Austin Theory’s challenge for a US Title Match at WrestleMania 39.
PWInsider further noted that Vince McMahon was not there to take over creative or to run the show. The report concluded by saying that the usual production and executive teams handled Monday’s Raw no different than they usually would each week.
Fightful Select, in their report noted that Vince “looked different” on Monday night. It was said that according to talent backstage, he is sporting a mustache. It was also noted that talent were not told why McMahon was backstage.
McMahon attended Cena and Shay Shariatzadeh’s private wedding ceremony in Vancouver, BC last summer. Cena and his wife the following month attended McMahon’s 77th birthday dinner in New York City with McMahon’s unidentified “female friend.” Others that attended were Pat McAfee, Brock Lesnar, and Undertaker.
