During the Revolution media call on Thursday, AEW CEO and President Tony Khan commented on Eddie Kingston “quitting” AEW.
Khan said the following as it relates to the angle which took place in a backstage interview on Wednesday night after Dynamite went off the air.
“I have talked to Eddie since [Wednesday], and I would encourage people to stay tuned to pro wrestling. Stay tuned to AEW and other forms of pro wrestling. Of course, there are a lot of exciting things happening in the sport, in AEW, and also out metaverse of pro wrestling, including New Japan and the launch of the new Ring of Honor. A lot of exciting things happening. I have had the chance to talk to Eddie about that and I say stay tuned to the wrestling business and you’ll see what happens next.”
Following Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS, in a social media exclusive interview, Eddie Kingston said he “quit” the company. Kingston was booked to take part in the Face of the Revolution ladder match. He never made it to the match, as he got into a backstage brawl with Ortiz, who was also supposed to be in the match as well.
It is being said that the angle appears to be a way to way for Kingston to move to the ROH roster. He appeared at both of the recent ROH TV tapings in Orlando. Kingston appears to be Claudio Castagnoli’s next challenger for the ROH World Championship.
