According to Fightful Select, WWE sources have said that at the time of Cody Rhodes’ pectoral injury injury this past June, former WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon had not decided on plans to make Rhodes a top champion in WWE. It was also said many in the company assumed that a big title win for Rhodes was happening, while other sources said there were firm plans for the title change to take place.
Fightful Select further notes that Vince was “all on-board” for the double title reign of Roman Reigns, and was not ready at that time to move on from it.
Rhodes is expected back in the ring in early 2023, and it is being said that many believe he will receive a significant push.
