According to a recent report by TMZ Sports, John Cena and Shay Shariatzadeh got married for a second time this past Friday in Vancouver, Canada. Cena took to Twitter on Sunday to confirm the report.
Cena and Shariatzadeh were actually married back on October 12, 2020 in Tampa, Florida, in a small private ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic. TMZ noted that the wedding held this past Friday was much larger, in what was described as a “star-studded event.”
Cena, 45 and Shariatzadeh, 33 began dating in 2019, not long after Cena’s public split with WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella in 2018. Cena and Shariatzadeh first met on the set of the 2019 comedy “Playing with Fire,” which was filmed in Vancouver. Shariatzadeh works as a Product Manager for Sonatype, which is a firm working in the field of computer software development.
Cena returned to the June 27 episode of WWE Raw in Larado, Texas, to celebrate his 20th anniversary with the company. There have been reports Cena would not be able to appear at this month’s SummerSlam due to him filming season two of “Peacemaker.” There had been talk that if Cena could have committed to SummerSlam, he would have had a match against Theory.
